Recently alot of things happening.
Release of LEGO 16 minifigures series 5 = lots of hunting, buying, selling, fighting scalpers.
Lots of OT at office end. Thank god, I jana on sundays. Same duration but 25% more money.
My old poly mate happened to be working as a team lead in civil service college under jos also. Which led to my working under him for a few days. Lots of things happened which led to a very big realization I should have long ago.
The ancient chinese military text, Sun Tzu Bing Fa, is not on warfare, but on management. I should have realise that when I was studying 法家 and 墨家 theories.

Since the last update, i have signed up for HSBC Revolution, CIMB card, UOB One.
Using the UOB one to pay my mobile bills, somehow tempted to make it hit the $800 mark so that i can get the $80 rebate for my first quarter. shrug, better not ba. time to save and return ppl money as much as possible.
only spend when there are good deals. coming month end got metro 20%. so bascially UOB one will just aim for the $30 rebate ba.
Thinking closely, for the 3.33% rebate, if you push yourself over the limit, you'll be paying your debt at 24% interest rate. not very smart. better to keep to the minimum as 3% isnt such a good deal. HECK, Metro card give me 5% rebate and i dont have to trouble about amount to spend.
will use the CIMB card to pay for my Bricksy Purchase, 1% is better than nothing. :)
Use different cards for different things, max out thier potential, but do not get caught into thier trap to spend more than is needed.
think at the end of the year, will do a review on all the cards and start killing the ones i dont use.
Watching some shows on TED have given me some insight as to what i'm doing and stuff. in a sense, i think i have a bad perception of time/rewards that i'll have to spend time to rectify. credit cards makes use of this to encourage ppl to spend more. i have to watch myself carefully from now.

Paid up my credit cards today. Only the metro card have an outstanding amount to be paid next month. Which will take up most of my pay as well.
Credit cards are dangerous tools. They allow you to pay for things at a later time but only a month later. When they say minimum payment, that will free you from the late payment charge, not the interests that will be added to the outstanding amount.
Think that's where most ppl have fallen. I have almost fallen. Luckily, talking to Seagull and Slasher made me go back and read the fine print. Then I realised that I have to pay up 2000 on that date due. Still manageable, but it happens on my payday. Payment through axis machine will take 3 days. By then, the cc would have happily piled up interest on my account, negating all the rebates that I would have accumulated.
So I called up Uob to change my billing cycle. And I started out early to draw CASH from my salary account and deposit CASH into the UOB cash deposit, selecting credit card payment. Nice of them to add this feature to the machine. Hopefully this is the last time I have to make cc payment this way.
Seagull suggested that I get the Manhattan card. Looked through he card, in order to get the 5% rebate, i'll need to spend 3000 each month, calculated quarterly. Tempted but might be stupid for me. I don't even get 3000 a month. How to spend that amount?
Think i'll stick to the current status til further changes.

I should be studying for my HP server exam but somehow i'm watching Youtube. -_-"
watching 易經的奧秘, i realise one thing. there is something in sync between chinese ancient studies and current western studies.
recently, i have picked up an audio book called why men need sex and women need love.
a common point is that, regardless of what you are, there are some things hard-wired in your brain which you may or may not know about. some information that is worked into your genes, your DNA.
it can be instinct or cultural.
Last time, when i tried to study about Eight Diagram, i can sort of come up with some theories to explain the diagrams. and watching the show, some of the theories matches. in the show, it says that we will instinctively know all these.
I believe in a sense, this is in built in all of us. we carry fore the knowledge and information passed down to us from our ancestors. which is why kids are getting smarter at a younger age.

Yesterday i made my first credit card payment using Citibank Clear Card. $459. in one shot, i maxed out the limit on the card. $41 left before i hit the limit. so what did i buy? 2519-1: Skeleton Bowling
Why did i spend so much on this? well, this set is a toys r us exclusive which is sold at $55.9, for some strange reason, i was able to get it at $45.9. well, when its a good deal, grab first. if regret, selling at 50 will made me a few bucks and its a price ppl will fight for.
Just got my certificate of service. so i can go apply for Metro Uob card now. after comparing to various credit cards, this will offer the most in rebate 5% though it will be only be redeemed in metro. as i'm getting this for the purpose of pushing my lego discount to more than 20%, i hope to get the card before May.
Should have realised this earlier that if i pay rental at TOP in advance for 3 months, i get a 10% rebate. well, since the business there is more consistant, Praise God!, think it might be better to make rental payment this way.

Staying at home for the whole weekend.
moved and reorganised some stuff between my room and yan's room. will need to start an inventory on the gachapons that i'm going to sell off.
Meanwhile, still waiting for the contract to be revised. perhaps will be avoiding ppl who will give me negative tots or try to sway me from my path. Gull called me on my other phone the other day and tried to get me to go for a recuitment talk. -_- that kind of pissed me off.
Today pray for Toa Bey Gong's birthday, so food wise from lunch til dinner is taken care of. a whole duck to eat.
Foul weather, things to entertain myself, more than enough food to eat. looks like God wants me to stay home and provides me the reasons.

Went back to office last night. Was offered a perm position with 100 dollars increase in salary.
Turned it down asking for a higher increment.
Haven't return miss calls from gull or kok wah. Shrug maybe it's meant to be missed. With the contract ending, I don't want any extra stuff to cloud up my mind.
Things are moving long fine with Irin. Will be meeting up with her friends more often as boon's not free on Thursday and Raymond's busy with shinvy. By the way, Thursday's the only day Irin can come out.
LEGO hunting wise, doing well. Think I'm among the top ten holders of elf from 16minifig3 in Singapore.

Weekend flew by with the Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention (STGCC). meet some old friends. had some new financial insights.
how come financial insight? well, this round's STGCC happened to be er... lacking in the area of attendees which result in a over-loading of stock. on the third day of the event, some prices are slashed down by at least 25% to 50% as exhibitors wish not to move the items back to the shop or not making enough to cover the fair.
due to various reasons, i was there on the third day but didnt buy anything. let me use Nendoriod Saber as an example.
i went on the 2nd day of the fair and bought this piece at 60. the lowest price i can find was 70 before this fair. so i bought a piece.
on the 3rd day, the price plunged to 45. if it was me in the past, i would have bought a second set to sell off at 60 so that my purchase price will be 45. i came very close to buying.
then i asked myself 2 questions.
1. how long will it take to sell off?
2. do i have better use of the money?
1. not sure, as this is a new product and market supply is still high. will take ard 1-2 years to hold and sell.
2. well, putting the money into Lego, i can get back the money within a month at 3 times the cost.
hence, 45 for saber and getting back 60 = 15 profit.
45 for Lego and getting back 135 = 90 profit, which is 6 times more profit.
well, that sort of put everything into perspective. so what i'll have to do is to suck it up that i made a reasonable price purchase rather than a "WHOOPPIE! I killed the shopkeeper!" price purchase.
Figma and Nendoroids are my collecting passion. regardless of its pricing highly dependent on market supply, i'll still collect it at the price i deem reasonable. there isnt any point spending time to run all over the place hunting for the best price when the time can be spent on better things like improving myself. a few dollars in saving vs improving your mind to make millions, which would you choose?
Today Yan is at home, rituals of the wedding is being carried out as i type. at 11am, Xiong will be coming over to deliver the betrothal gifts.

Standing in for William while he is on leave. Guess thats the main purpose of my exsistance in the company as a roaming engineer, to stand in for ppl when they are on leave or MC.
Last friday, had a long talk with irin. i long painful talk and a wake up call or is it? was on the topic of whether should continue on with my current job. irin wanted me to change job as i dont seems to be fitting into the company, but i sort of see potential in trying to change the system.
then when she ask me what is my main focus now, my career or forex? i replied forex.
well... irin blow up and started to shoot off alot of things that was pretty hurtful, but true. i had some line that i can slap back with too, but chose to hold back. there is no point in having a fight. in listening, i gained more than fighting back. i know now how she feels, i know now how different we think.
one thing i would like to have said was, if you already known how old my parents are, whats the harm in living with them after marriage? shouldn't we be treasuring the time we have with them?
anyway, i never did say that, however, the next day, she told me that if i wanna live with my parents, we can take the BTO 3 generation flat. dont really know what that is. whether we live with my parents or not, will be a major deciding factor whether or not i get married. period.
over the weekend, i thrown out the old server, moved the stuff under Ranna's table back into my room. (Rinna cracked her toe nail on a dumbbell i left near the door) somehow after all that done, i find myself troubled and unmotivated. maybe what irin had said on friday have affected me deeply, maybe i should give up reaching for the sky and grab whatever i can nearby. maybe i should settle down and grazing like cows instead of trying to soar like an eagle. maybe maybe maybe....

Today covering Sng as he is clearing his leave. yesterday skipped RT due to heavy rain, 2 out of 3 skips used, one more left for backup. spend the night sorting out some lego and gachapons, assembled some starwars vehicles for sale. looks like i got alot of updating to do on my blogshop.
at the same time, some of the lego shops in brick link is putting up stuff that i want. haiz... managing the items to be below 400 to avoid GST's a bitch. maybe i should just pay the gst and up the shipping volume to even out everything. but then it will put a horrible strain on my wallet and i hope to be clearing as much debts asap. will hold and see.
As i just sent in the termination to Singnet and has recieved the confirmation that it will terminate on the 10th Dec, i was wondering if i was to be signing up for another home broadband (after i settled my storage issue), when will i be able to sign up for the optic fibre network which is advertised to be SUPER fast? second quarter of 2012 it seems... you can check on when you'll be able to subscribe for optic network with the link below.

Sent in the termination for singnet this morning. They tried to counter offer me the 10meg broadband at 23.90 and 5 dollars off local line per month. When that failed, another offer of 1 meg line at 4 dollars a month.
Since my main objective is to cut cost, I just told the guy, both offers are not attractive enough.
Watched 3 idiots yesterday, excellent show!!! Aal izz vell is the first phrase the lead said Which is actually all is well. The human heart frightens easily, you'll have to keep telling it all is well to calm it down. True, it does not solves your prob, but it gives you the courage to face it.
The evil trio to stop anyone from succeeding, fear, doubt and indecisive.
In the show, a lot is said about education and parenting. I think it's a very good show. Must watch.

Sajer came over in the morning to pass me his HDD to dl stuff from my PC before i delete them.
Havent been blogging these few days as alot of on my mind. money matters, toy matters, PC matters.
Money matters - Returned Seagull half his money. another half next month. after some calculations, if the toys i took in sell off smoothly, i'll clear all by debts. if not, by the time i stop work next year in march, i would still be able to clear half. that is if nothing much comes up. so what i'll try to do more often now is to focus on studies and camping at home to save needless spendatures.
PC - torrent server 1's HDD decided to conk out. hmmmm... due to its age, not worth the cost to get a 80 gig HDD to revive it. woah, looking at the prob written out really clears up alot of things. if this scenario is correct, the other 4 servers will also have to bwang le. this will free up alot of space in my room.
Yan was asking me if there is any good laptops at the fair. i replied her, does she really have a need for a laptop NOW? cos electronic stuff, the later you buy, the better the specs will be. at the same time, her wedding is coming up, its more ideal she holds on to the money as backup rather than spend it now. she can always get it at a later date.
back to my issue, i was spending the day deleting and watching stuff on my pc, trying to free up space. didnt manage to get the 2T HDD as planned cos the shop had gone to sitex. just as well, looking at it, i'll be terminating my BB on the 5th dec, might not have the need for high capacity also.
Space - Yan asked me what i going to do about the stuff under Ranna's desk. well, looks like if i throw all the GX1 servers away, i'll solve alot of space concern.
Toys - Next year's lego looks like a killer to me.
For army-building and churning. though i'm not a starwars fan, building armies of starwars forces are fun and profitable.
Pharaoh's quest, which will sort of be my one of my main focus next year.

Ideas are fleeting things. I have already forgotten what I wanted to blog about yesterday.
Came home early on half day leave yesterday. While deboxing my kingdoms LEGO, chatted with dad.
Ran into a old bmt mate during rt yesterday. Haven't seen him for more than 10 years since our bmt.
Just started on a new Facebook game. It's the first attempt by Square Enix to enter the social network. Square Enix is the company which SquareSoft , producer of Final Fantasy, and Enix, producer of Dragon Quest, had merged to become. Today's the third day I'm playing, and I'm hitting level 20 and over taking Eugene who recommend this game to me soon. I'm quite good at all these number games. Heehee.
Often I wondered, how come I never go into accounting since number always excites me. Well, it's as well, having a more hands-on job let me have more time for thoughts. Will need to be starting to learn to invest in forex.
Will allocate some time for these activities, exercise, study forex, God and bible reading. Irin was asking why am I blogging again all of a sudden. Well, I found the app for andoroid to blog and using the time between travelling, I can blog as and when. A better use of my travelling time.

Woke up at 7 this morning well rested. Think it's due to the exercises and chin-up i was trying to do last night. Having your physical body or energy expended, allows your mind to rest better.
Was thinking this morning, should I keep the LEGOs I want in boxes? Answer is? No. Why?
1. It's taking up a lot of space.
2. Since they are not for re-selling or selling as a set. There isn't a need for them to remain in boxes.
Recently I bought some old battles packs from a forum member. Damn, no wonder Mond and Alex were advising me against army build with battle packs. You can't believe what kind of low quality LEGO they make in China. Thank God I still got the box at PS to offload what I don't want.
Tearing up a set to sell works better for me than selling in sets. Need to sort out plans and look out for alternate builds for the really loose bits.
Hmmmm... looking at my past sales at toy outpost, seems like what Mond told me before, "that tearing up a set to sell while keeping the parts you want won't work", isn't correct. Well, what can I say but I have the grace of God. Things get sold for unbelievable prices. Guess in the end, shoppers are only about impulse and wants.
Was trying to update my blogshop yesterday in the office, it's not working very well. Hmmmm... I have to go into individual posts to edit the prices. There isn't a consolidated page of all the items. Looks like by wanting to keep the sold out sets on the blog will serve no purpose but to clog up the blog itself. So I don't think I'll be keeping those for record.
Need to spend more time to think and sort out the stuff.

Waited til 12 am for standby to be over before turning off my phone to get a good night's rest. turned off all the electronic device in my room also. then after going to sleep at 12am, i woke at 4.30 am, fully enegerized.
thinking that if i try to go back to sleep again, i'll probably oversleep for RT. so i started tidying up my table and some stuff. feeling quite satisfied at the end result and having to have put extra time to good use.
While packing up the stuff, i start to have some good ideas about how to pack and store certain stuff. guess the study proves to be correct, the mind seems to unable to generate ideas while using electronic product. only when your hand is moving and your mind is allowed to wander, then it can fetch good ideas back for you.
Time to put another good idea to use.
writing down 6 item that's to be done:
-Pack gachapons
-Pack Lego
-update lego inventory spreadsheet
-prepare Outpost spreadsheet for closing
-update blogshop
-ebay listing
Arrange the sequence of the things to be done:
1. Pack Gachapons - Need to clear these asap as i want to be selling these off first.
2. Update Blogshop - If its not listed, there's no exposure to sell.
3. Ebay listing - link it back to the blogshop for exposure as i only have 10 slots for ebay listing.
4. Pack Lego
5. Update Lego inventory spreadsheet
6. Prepare outpost spreadsheet for closing
later will be going over to TPY. might be doing the spreadsheet there instead.

Finished gathering the stuff that a seller wanted late last night. Hmmm... need to sort out and repost gachapons on my blog shop.
With the grace of God, my sales at toy outpost cleared the amount needed for rental yesterday. Unbelievable, second day of the month only. I thank you, God. You provide and in abundance.
During my reservist, Guan Meng commented that i have a good life. with passion in toy collecting, joy in having food and rest. well, isnt that whats life about?

Today went to tarafuku with irin for lunch. after that, we went looking at handphones for irin. at SCAPE, i bought some LEGO starwars clone troopers battlepack to put into my box at PS along with other stuff i prepared. Irin helped me in assembling the walkers to be sold.
shouldnt be spending money getting the Clone troopers while i'm so tight on cash, but, my recent stock of clone troopers sold out and i'll sort of need to keep the goods going on so that the ppl who have been coming to my box to get starwars will continue to come back.
Spend some time packing some stuff and sorting lego. sort of redirected the funds for Nendoroid Petite Nanoha to some orders of lego. hope that it wont be coming in soon. anyway it has delayed from aug to oct, now i really dont know if its coming in or not. hope i wouldnt have to borrow the 1400 from gull when it finally comes in.
Tomorrow morning i'll be going for RT. will be a good time in between to do some thinking also. according to research, thinking happens when you doing anything other than using electronic products. here's a link to that youtube. Future Minds also it was mentioned that use of electronic product have seriously affected communication and interaction between ppl. how many times have you meet your other half and spend the time doing something else on your mobile? food for thought.
